Oasis Chiyu is located in Las Conchas Community, Chahal, Alta VeraPaz, Guatemala, near to Las Conchas waterfall (the Lonely Planet Guide Books #3 highlight in Central/Eastern Guatemala). Read all the nice things they say about Oasis Chiyu in the 2007 edition.
The tropical mountainous climate is fresh and lovely. Typically, the driest time of the year is between February and May, sunshine, rainfall, heat and humidity are common.
Map & Directions
Safe , scenic, dependable and affordable. There is public transportation everyday to Las Conchas.
The last buses are normally around 3 or 4 pm.
If arriving with your own vehicle, no 4X4 is necessary.
Arriving to Oasis Chiyu is easy when you follow these directions;

| Go South to Cadenas (often referred to as Modesto Mendez) |
Go North to Cadenas |
Change buses in Cadenas and go West toward Chahal. Get off in Sejux. Change buses in Sejux and go the remaining 3 km to Las Conchas Community.

| Go East to Fray (Bartolome de las Casas). Change buses in Fray and go East to Chahal. Change buses in Chahal and go to Las Conchas Community. |
When in Las Conchas Community TURN RIGHT at the Oasis Chiyu sign pointing right. Pass the enormous Ceiba tree (You can't miss this landmark. It is Incredible)!
Pass the Catholic Church and walk approximately 5 minutes downhill to the Oasis.

We recommend that you travel early in the morning so that you can arrive with plenty of daylight to swim, relax and explore.
Bring a flashlight with extra batteries, bathing suit, towel, something warm, closed shoes with traction, a poncho, clothes to get dirty and a big smile!
